About

• I was raised between the mergel and löss of the deep Dutch south, Limburg, an area which makes some people closely reflect on their roots and makes others explore the world. Your surroundings matter.
• I lived in Amsterdam.
• I moved to Barcelona and Berlin.
• I now live in Brussels.
• That is where I am entrenched in the Belgian and European urban jungle. To add to that mix, I host two rhinos, a gorilla, a tree frog, a colourful species of bird and a Japanese koi in my flat. Plenty of plants as well.
• At 19 yrs old, I decided I wanted to spend my life doing something I would miss when not doing it.
• It quickly turned out to be arts and culture. That still makes me tick.
• I care about how the world turns and how we turn in it.
• I love it when 1+1 is more than 2.
• It would be awesome if the Brussels’ tunnels would be turned into urban cave diving spaces with water from the Zenne and enhanced by local artists. Dare to dream wild.
• I have tried my hand at electricity, plumbing, interior renovation and carpentry. The apartment is still standing and it has not burnt down yet, it flooded only once and I now have a sturdy table. Hands on!
• I have a weird accent, I drink tea with milk and I adore veggies.
• My head is full of different languages, which in their chaos, diversity and detail are extremely enriching.
• There’s of course much more. For one, Aby Warburg, for his inspirational universe of structured anachronism and associative thinking. Or Nina Simone, who remains my heroine for her force and consolidation.
